Virtual Private Networking (VPN) - Obtaing an Account Click Here to Print!

NCI-Frederick Campus Employees, NCI Fellows, Students, and Special Volunteers

Beginning September 18, 2007, anyone with an exising NIH Active Directory account will already have access to the VPN system. Simply use your existing account and password to obtain the software and configuration files needed to access the system. Please note that your NIH Active Directory account is the same as your NIH e-mail account, NIH portal account or ITAS account (if you have one). If you do not have an NIH Active Directory account, please contact your NCI Administratng Officer to obtain an account. To see if you already have an account, search the NIH Enterprise Directory.

Please note that all remote access accounts will be deleted simultaneously with the deactivation and/or deletion of you NIH Enterprise Directory, NIH E-mail, or NIH Active Directory account(s).

Other Fort Detrick Tenants, and Outside Contractors Not Residing at Fort Detrick

Requests for all accounts of this type must be accompanied by a dated and signed letter from the on-campus, NCI or Primary Contractor sponsor stating the need and purpose for remote access. This letter should specifically state an account expiration date not to exceed 12 months from the date of the letter. Only original copies of the letter will be accepted (no faxs or duplicated copies). The letter must be accompanied by a Remote Access Account Application form. Incomplete forms will not be processed. If you need assistance completing the application, contact the LAN Office (301-846-5797). In order to re-activate or extend such accounts, a newly dated and signed letter must be submitted by the sponser.
